What does reflexology do?

Reflexology has proven to be extremely effective in relief from:
Pain, arthritis, backache, stress, headaches and migraines, mild depression, eczema and other skin disorders, menopause, digestive problems, allergies, asthma and many other ailments.

How does it work?

The reflexologies works by stimulating reflex points in the feet. This creates a healing response the rest of the body, stimulating the body’s own natural healing system and returning the body to equilibrium.

You will be amazed at what the feet tell you about the state of various parts of your body. While the reflexologist is not allowed to diagnose, he is able to identify and work on problem areas during the treatment.

Can Reflexology do any harm?

No Reflexology cannot harm you.

BUT, as with several other natural therapies like homeopathy and acupuncture, there is often a worsening of symptoms before they get better, after a reflexology session, . The reason for this is that reflexology is creating a reaction within your own body which leads to the healing that takes place. It is a kind of a jump start of your bodies own healing system.

How many sessions should you do?

  • How many session you do will depend on what your purpose is for the treatment. As a general relaxation and stress relief therapy, you can use sessions individually as you desire.
  • If you would like to use reflexology as a stress maintenance treatment, we recommend you come on a regular basis - once a week, to once a month throughout the year.
  • If you are wanting work on a particular illness, we recommend 8-10 sessions done once weekly

An Example of what stimulating specific reflex points can do for you:

The solar plexus and diaphragm reflexes:
prompt these parts to set up a regular breathing pattern and channel relaxing signals to the muscles and organs in the abdomen.

The pituitary gland reflexes:  stimulate the pituitary to align specific hormonal balances in the body, bringing about a calming sensation

The thyroid and parathyroid gland reflexes: encourage these glands to bring muscle tension into balance, which affects the overall tranquility of the body.

The lung reflexes: prompt the lungs to increase the bloods oxygen level, thus enhancing metabolic processes that refresh and nurture the body.

The kidney reflexes: trigger the kidneys to align the fluid balances that affect blood pressure.

The spine reflexes: prompt the spinal cord, with about half the bodies’ nerve cells, to soothe nervous responses.

The solar plexus and diaphragm reflexes: induce the solar plexus to send signals that leave the body feeling pleasantly relaxed.
